Hello and welcome to While Oliver Sleeps! A place for anyone looking to incorporate cooking and baking into their busy life.
I am native to San Diego (rare, i know), started baking with my Great Grandma Flossy when I was 3, have been a Hairstylist since 2006 (and love every minute of it), married my best friend and had a sweet baby boy, named Oliver, in May 2017.
I grew up surrounded by family members on every side that always made everything from scratch. I loved being in the kitchen just to steal a taste, help prep or watch the famous “Turkey Sliding Across the Floor” incident that I am still not sure I can talk about.
I find cooking and baking to be incredibly cathartic, when I have time. Key word: Time. As the blog’s name suggests, I now find time to work in the kitchen while my son naps or after he goes to bed at night. I hope I can inspire you to find some time for yourself in your kitchen!
